STUDENT JACKET KIT

A new eco-friendly vest has been created in the territory between Como and Bergamo

We celebrate the creation of a vest and a rucksack with pockets, to be worn under the jacket, designed to carry around all the high-tech kit needed by students or business people: earphones, a tablet, a smartphone, a pc and even a solar panel to recharge electronic devices. They can all be fitted under a business suit or  a school uniform.

The Student Jacket Kit is the new, innovative project by Edoardo Pani, a student attending the second year at the International School of Como.

A trendy, hi-tech, functional and eco-friendly idea.

That is why Edoardo has chosen to partner up with Jersey Lomellina, a textile company headquartered in the district of Bergamo, leader in the production of stretch, circular knitted fabrics, which has always been committed to the safeguard of the environment.

The kit is made of Renew Prime, a bi-elastic and eco-sustainable fabric made of  ECONYL®, a regenerated Nylon yarn from pre and post consumer materials (fishing nets, carpet fluff, tulle …) which, once they get to the end of their useful life, instead of being disposed of in a landfill, are recovered and regenerated through a complex physical-chemical process.

The student Jacket Kit has already become an accessory of the school uniform of the International School of Como and will be launched officially at the next MUN – Model United Nation Conference, the international event allowing students to attend the simulation of a United Nations meeting – planned to be held in Rome on 9 March, 2020.
