Performance and eco friendly fabrics in beachwear

In a few weeks we are finally going to be back to the beach to enjoy a regenerating swim and flaunter some flattering new swimsuits.  However, there is nothing more annoying than realizing we haven’t chosen the right size or that a low-quality fabric makes the swimsuit look sagging or easily worn out.

Still, nowadays, we can find numerous beachwear fabrics which are both high-performance and eco-friendly: more and more brands are producing eco-sustainable beachwear, made of fabrics derived from recycled materials or even waste, like Carvico’s.

What are the best fabrics for high-end beachwear?

ecofriendly beachwearThe main difference between an average and an excellent swimsuit, as you can imagine, lies in the fabric used to produce it which shall ensure a perfect fit, duration, and shall shape the body without constraints. In addition to this, especially for swimming pool suits, fabrics should be chlorine-proof, while for people who love sunbathing at the sea, they should be resistant to suntan creams and oils. Whether you are after competition swimwear of the perfect look for the beach, high-quality swimwear and beachwear will make the difference.

Carvico and Jersey Lomellina beachwear fabrics boast all of the above-mentioned features and also undergo several strict physical and visual tests before being marketed: of course, physical characteristics are crucial for products quality, but when it comes to high-end beachwear, appearance is also fundamental; thus, fabrics shall remain the same over time, and their colors shall never fade.

Carvico and Jersey Lomellina use a high-quality elastromer  which is twice as resistant to chlorine, suntan creams and oils than standard yarns. Our collections also include several fabrics, available also in an eco-friendly version, which, thanks to their patented structure are also sand-resistant since sand grains get stuck inside their fibers.

The best brands in the market should try Vita and Vita Power: hyper-resistant, this, stretch and breathable. The former guarantees the perfect balance between muscular compression and comfort, while Vita Power focuses on muscular compression to boost a fast recovery and reduce lactic acid. Both fabrics are resistant to chlorine, suntan creams and oils, and are also UV protective.

Pantelleria is another beachwear favorite: featuring a soft, 3D texture, it is perfect for the creation of elegant and romantic, long-lasting and wraparound items.

Pantelleria, like Vita, Vita Power and other fabrics by Carvico and Jersey Lomellina, are made of ECONYL®, a 100% regenerated Nylon from pre- and post-consumer waste materials (such as fishing nets, carpet fluff, tulle …) which, instead of being disposed of in a landfill, are recovered and regenerated in compliance with the principles of circular economy.

Eco-sustainable beachwear: Arena launches a beachwear collection which safeguards the environment

We often choose our beachwear following fashion trends, but not only: now eco-sustainable beachwear is a must. Our purchases can affect the market, and this has happened, over the past years, to the point that beachwear brand have been using sustainable fabrics more and more often to satisfy their customers’ demand for eco-friendly products.

sustainable swimsuitWith this in mind, Arena and Carvico have just set up a new partnership in the name of sustainability: the prestigious brand has just presented its new summer 2022 collection inspired by inclusivity and environmentalism; it is just the latest step in a journey started in 2021 towards a new era of social responsibility and care for our planet.

Thanks to Carvico’s logic of continuous improvement, Arena has been able to create its latest swimwear and many items in its beachwear 2022 collection with high-quality fabrics made from recycled raw materials. In addition to the evergreen fabrics traditionally used by the brand, we can now find several  innovative fabrics for swimwear: along with Vita, the fabric we have just talked about, Arena has also picked Sydney Eco, a high-end sustainable fabric made of recycled polyester from PET plastic bottles, which is high-performance, chlorine-proof, resistant to suntan creams and oils, durable, fast drying, and UV protective and its colors and features remain unaltered over time.

To recap: fabrics for beachwear and competition swimming have gone green, proving swimmers and brands care for our environment.

Sustainability also means knowing how to use items: learn to keep your swimsuit going

Using high-quality, sustainable fabrics is crucial for the creation of high performance, eco-friendly items; still, if we threw away our swimwear and beachwear at the end of each season to buy some new, fabrics would not make a difference.

You just need to pay attention to few things to make your swimsuits last longer and resist to sun, sand and salty water. Wash them well with cold, freshwater immediately after use and just add a delicate soap or a suitable detergent to make sure you remove all residual corrosive agents, and never use softeners.
