This is the philosophy of Jersey Lomellina and Carvico. The two companies have chosen to follow an environmental policy of “lasting and sustainable development”, committing to managing resources in a careful and farsighted way, while taking into account economic, ecological and social objectives. The overall aim is to minimize the impact of processes and products, respect the legal requirements in environmental terms, and introduce fabrics on the market that are designed and distributed in an eco-friendly way. All of this is part of a process of continuous pushing of the entire production chain towards eco-friendlyness.
For Jersey Lomellina and Carvico, producing fabrics means improving people’s lives through the quality of production and distribution processes and through the safeguard and the respect of the environment.
Between 2002 and 2007, the two companies considerably cut down their levels of energy consumption for the same amount of production:
-14 % methane per metre of product
-14% electricity per metre of product
-33% water per metre of product
(data updated on 31/12/2007)
In addition, the use of recyclable material, smaller packing volumes and the recycle of non-dangerous waste products have led to even less waste.
All non-recyclable waste is disposed of promptly and with the utmost care.
