History

Carvico SpA, the leading Italian company specializing in the knitting, dyeing and finishing of elasticized warp-knitted stretch fabrics, has been a benchmark for the international textile industry since 1962.

Founded by Giuseppe Colnaghi, initially as a manufacturer of woven fabrics, it was during the Eighties that it achieved recognition as a world leader in the production of warp-knitted stretch fabrics for swimwear, and Carvico fabrics gained fame not only nationally, but also internationally throughout Europe and the United States.

The far-sighted decision to invest in a new sector of the textile industry such as that of warp-knitted fabrics at the beginning of the Sixties turned out to be winning one.  Since its very inception, the company has experienced incredible growth on a world-wide scale, with production and turnover in rapid, constant expansion.
Driven by the same spirit of innovation that has always been its hallmark, today the company continues to invest heavily in research into new applications and cutting edge materials, regularly including  new warp-knitted stretch fabrics for swimwear, sportswear and outerwear that are even more hi-tech, comfortable and high performance in its range.

Today, Carvico has a production capacity of 25 million metres of fabric, with a turnover that exceeds 100 million Euro a year - 30% from domestic market sales, and 70% from foreign sales. Over the years, it has achieved great results not only in the United States and Europe, but also in the Asian markets.

Carvico SpA is presently run by Laura Colnaghi Calissoni and a highly-capable management team, who put the founding values that made this company a unique winner into practice with enthusiasm and tenacity: the "Made in Italy" culture, a strong environmental policy and the decision to employ highly qualified personnel with the skills to create innovative products that meet the numerous and diverse requirements of its customers.
