Following the success of the 2008 edition, Carvico has decided once again to be an official sponsor for the Cross-Country Skiing competitions on the FIS OPA Continental Cup and Coppa Italia circuit that will take place in Alta Badia on 12 and 13 December 2009 at the Centro Fondo Sarè / Armentarola in San Cassiano.
On Saturday 12 December 2009 the 5 and 10km women’s and 15km men’s Classic Technique individual starts will take place. Sunday 13 December 2009 will see the 10km women’s and 15km men’s Freestyle mass start
Winner of the 10km in the last edition was the Russian athlete, Tatjana Jambaeva, with a time of 29:32.2, beating the Spaniard, Laura Orgue (29:35.2) by 03.3. Third place went to French athlete Coraline Hugue, with a time of 29:41.5.
The gold medal in the men’s 15km race was won by the German athlete Tom Reichelt (37:50.2), followed by the French racer Maurice Manificat (37.54.3) and the Italian, Florian Kostner (37:55.4).
