55 companies and 63 projects competing for the Odysseus 2012 award organized every two years by Confindustria Bergamo with the aim of offering small and medium local businesses which are investing on their future by innovating their products, activities and services, the chance of increasing their visibility on the territory.
Such companies have been asked to deliver a project focusing on one of the following areas: innovation, responsibility, business development, communication and human resources.
The award ceremony took place last Monday, October 1, 2012, during Confindustria Bergamo meeting chaired by Confindustria Bergamo Chairman, Mr. Carlo Mazzoleni.
Jersey Lomellina proved once again to be one of the major representatives of the Made in Italy being one of the nominees for the finale with the WHP project - Work Health Promotion - in the Human Resources area. This is an initiative promoted by the local ASL (District Health Precinct) which Jersey Lomellina has immediately embraced following the belief that companies have to take on an active role in the promotion of health and safety measure on the workplace as part of their Social Responsibility.
The company therefore committed to start a three-year project aimed at developing several, different abilities concerning the following: fighting tobacco, alcohol and drug addictions, promoting good eating habits, exercise, road safety rules and personal and social wellbeing. In 2012 two campaigns have been launched one for figthing tobacco addiction (which has led to comforting results) and one for the promotion of good eating habits which implied providing staff with some guidelines for an healthy diet (campaign which is currently still on).
Jersey Lomellina intepreted the event as the chance to show its commitment and endurance in protecting and promoting its future and the one of its 80 employees which are proud to face every day new, exciting challenges.
